Doing Your Best

I’ve been reading The Four Agreements lately, by Don Miguel Ruiz. Chapter 5 begins talking about the art of doing your best.

“..if you always do your best there is no way you can judge yourself.” Don Miguel Ruiz

This quote makes me think of a Tupac lyric:

“Only God can judge me.” Tupac Shakur

These quotes serve as a reminder to myself that I am not perfect, and I’m designed to be unique. There is no reason for me to judge myself, as long as I’m putting my best foot forward every time.

I’m a tech professional, singer/songwriter, vocal coach, brother, son, boyfriend, friend, mentor, etc. There is no way I’ll be able to sustain all these facets of myself if I keep slowing down to judge my imperfections. Doing my best is all that matters.
